Danny Faure, the President of Seychelles recently announced his intent to develop collaboration with the island nation of Sri Lanka in regards to tourism, agriculture and fisheries. The respective Presidents of the two countries have already held talks with one another to discuss furthering the bilateral relations of the two countries. The President of Sri Lanka, Maithripala Sirisena, had mentioned the two nations as bearing very strong similarities, since they are neighbouring countries in the Indian Ocean. The President also sought the expertise of Sri Lankan Minister of Agriculture since exports related to this area are important to the economies of both countries. The Seychelles head of state also spoke with the Minister of Fisheries, since it is the top contributor to the Seychelles economy. Sri Lanka has a very interesting maritime history, and exploring it is one of the most popular things to do in Galle with many hotels and resorts such as Tamarind Hill in Galle, Sri Lanka offering activities related to the sea.
