Sri Lanka is ready to receive visitors again!

Sri Lanka’s tourism industry is experiencing a remarkable revival in 2023, with tourist arrivals exceeding 50,000 in just the first two weeks of March alone. The total year-to-date arrivals have reached 264,022, indicating a significant improvement from the previous year. The increase in arrivals is primarily due to the influx of Russian tourists, who accounted for 24% of the total arrivals, followed by India, Germany, the UK, and the US. With daily arrivals exceeding 4,100, this is a substantial improvement compared to last year’s figures. In conjunction with the boost in arrivals, the industry also earned more than $330 million.

To build on this momentum, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority plans to promote Sri Lanka as a year-round destination, targeting specific markets to boost tourism even further. As part of this initiative, hotels belonging to the International Hotel Group known to all as Minor Hotels such as Anantara Kalutara Resort offers an exclusive Treehouse Dining experience as part of its signature Dining by Design package, showcasing Sri Lanka’s unique culture and cuisine. The locally-caught seafood and traditional desserts featured in Anantara Kalutara’s Treehouse Dining highlight Sri Lanka’s rich culinary heritage.

The resort’s ‘The Perfect Getaway’ package offers up to 30% savings on luxury accommodation, making it easier and more affordable for travellers to visit Sri Lanka and enjoy its many attractions. Moreover, the Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort invites guests to reconnect with their inner selves through its new three-day Sanjeewana Ayurvedic Journey, featuring healing spa therapies, beach walks, meditation, cooking classes, and soul-soothing wood-oven baking sessions.

With these unique and attractive offerings, Sri Lanka is poised to become a top destination for travellers seeking to explore a rich cultural heritage, indulge in unique culinary experiences, and rejuvenate their minds and bodies. As the tourism industry continues to recover and flourish, Sri Lanka’s hospitality and natural beauty will continue to attract visitors from around the world.
