Sri Lankan Health Ministry made vaccine cards mandatory for tourists and locals visiting religious sites; the measure was implemented on 17th December to curb the spread of the virus.
Sri Lanka has been fighting the Delta variant since April 2020; however, things are getting back to normal, and tourist visits are increasing once again. Tourists planning to visit religious sites need to submit their vaccine card or an electronic copy of the card before they enter these attractions. They are also advised to have the vaccine card translated into English before visiting Sri Lanka. The island is once again visited by fully vaccinated travellers from around the world, placing the best resorts in Sri Lanka high in demand. Hospitality brands like Browns Hotels & Resorts are seeing a glimmer of hope in light of the relaxed travel restrictions. However, the country is still dealing with the virus, and tourists are advised to do their part in order to prevent the further spread of the virus by being socially responsible.
