After a long absence, the SLTDA (Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority) re-launched its Mobile Service at an Arugam Bay event which was held 2 months ago. The mobile service is conducted by SLTDA delivers a range of services by the authority. These services include hotel inspections, tourism training and issuing business licenses among others. While boutique hotels Colombo, such as the Colombo Courtyard have no problems visiting the SLTDA head office in Colombo for licensing and other tasks, the online mobile service makes it easier for tourism establishments outside of the city as they no longer need to come to Colombo. The SLTDA’s mobile service employed the latest IT to connect their head office in Colombo to hospitality business licensing requests in specific parts of the island. The SLTDA plans to further expand this innovative mobile service to offer their services to every part of the island in the near future.
