Earlier this year, the Tourism Authority of Thailand launched the Thailand Tourism Festival 2025 in Bangkok, which provided visitors with a chance to find out more about the many attractions of this nation. It was held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre from 26th to 30th March and focused on aspects such as carbon-neutral tourism and the five must-do experiences in the country. Of course, one of the key objectives was to inspire locals to travel within Thailand itself, which in turn will boost domestic tourism.
Apart from five regional village zones and several themed highlight zones, sustainability was also put in the spotlight at this festival. This included a zone centred on “Sustainable Tourism Goals” as well as an initiative called “Zero Waste to Landfills”, which featured designated waste-sorting points. It should be noted that sustainability is also being adopted by the top hotels in Bangkok, further reiterating the importance being placed on reducing one’s carbon footprint. Examples include hospitality brands like Maitria Hotels & Residences with the “Think First Think Earth” programme, which encompasses a range of green initiatives that are helping both the planet and the people who call it home.
