As reported by the Bangkok Post on its website on 15th February 2021, the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, established the Thailand Tourism Standard; this was done to ensure that local tourism keeps to global standards and offers a destination that covers aspects such as being unique, safe and clean. It will provide a guideline for those in the industry to follow to achieve sustainable and responsible tourism development.
More good news was to follow, with travel restrictions also being eased from April 2021. This included the changing of the country’s 14-day quarantine period to 10 days for travellers from most destinations, other than countries with the more virulent virus variant. Those arriving in the Thai capital can spend their quarantine at a government-designated city hotel Bangkok has to offer. This includes properties like Avani Atrium Bangkok Hotel which offer special Alternative State Quarantine packages for safe stays.
