Phuket plans on welcoming vaccinated tourists by October 2021, after which travellers will be able to enter the country by exempting the two-week quarantine period. The Land of Smiles did reopen the country to foreign nationals in October, previous year; however, they were still required to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine period upon arrival at a quarantined hotel. For instance, one could make reservations at a Pattaya quarantine hotel the likes of Avani Pattaya Resort to complete their quarantine period.
This plan, known as “Phuket First October”, hasn’t received government approval yet. However, once the approval is received, it is expected to make it quite easy for the tourists who’ve received their vaccines to holiday on this picturesque island. According to the president of the tourist association, if Phuket doesn’t record tourist arrivals by this winter peak season, they will have to wait for another year.
