Emma Camp, a British marine biologist and a researcher of coral conservation and resilience at the University of Technology Sydney, strives to save the marine jewels that took her breath away when she was just a child. Her work involves combing the world’s lagoons and seas in search of the toughest and resilient corals that have the potential to survive the climate crisis. Camp, along with her team, found the mangrove corals in New Caledonia in 2016. She could also find similar mangrove corals on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef as well.
While you can go snorkelling around the Great Barrier Reef to see these incredibly resilient colonies of corals, it isn’t the only location in Australia where you can immerse in these picturesque marine wonderlands. Around many hotels in Gold Coast Qld the likes of Oaks Gold Coast Hotel, you will come across exquisite snorkelling destinations such as Gold Coast Seaway, here, you’ll find several diving and snorkelling hotspots.
