Toronto Event “Discover Sri Lanka” Highlighted the Island’s Tourism Potential

Sri Lanka’s charm took centre stage, inviting Canada to explore its wonders.

On May 31, travel professionals gathered at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for Discover Sri Lanka, a special event organised by Prestige Discoveries in collaboration with the Global Tourism Film Festival and World of Travel Expo. Supported by the Sri Lanka High Commission, the event aimed to promote the island nation’s vibrant travel experiences.

Attendees viewed Realm of Paradise, a travel documentary by Anna Leonti that showcased Sri Lanka’s natural beauty, from golden beaches to misty mountains and ancient heritage sites. Industry representatives heard presentations from the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, SriLankan Airlines, and Whittalls Travels.

Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts also shared insights into their premium offerings, including properties such as Cinnamon Bentota Beach, known for its scenic beachfront setting. For those planning a visit, there are plenty of places to visit in Bentota offering culture, relaxation, and adventure.
