Melbourne Airport has taken extra precautions to ensure the safety of its customers during the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic. The airport will remain closed to international passenger arrivals until at least the 24th of October 2020, including transits. Those who are based in serviced apartments in Southbank the likes of Oaks Melbourne Southbank Suites will be able to leave and enter Victoria as per their wish.

The Melbourne Airport has strengthened its safety measures by placing hand sanitiser units at check-in points, walk-to-gate pathways, bathrooms, and even in food courts. One would even be able to find disinfectant wipes installed in departures. To stay safe when travelling, it is advised that you should wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, sanitise your hands when at arrivals and departures, use your arm to cover your coughs and sneezes and maintain at least a distance of 1.5 metres between other travellers.
