A surge in demand for used forklifts is seen in the industry. The demand is the result of the pandemic that brought the functionality of forklifts to a halt for about 18 months or so. Companies like GRI Tires are seeing a new trend where fleets are a mixture of used forklifts and new forklifts. For instance, if a customer has a requirement of 20 forklifts, he’d be content with 15 refurbished forklifts and 5 used forklifts.
The current situation is posing a challenge for forklift manufacturers; for example, if you are someone who manufactures solid forklift tires, you will see a significant demand reduction. The industry researchers are of the idea that the situation won’t be resolved for the next two years – another challenge created by the pandemic that industry giants have to contend with.
