According to recent reports, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) assigned two regulated areas to relocate street food vendors to. As part of the project, street food vendors will be housed at Yaowarat Road which is the city’s Chinatown area in the Samphanthawong district and Khao San Road in the Phra Nakhon district. The Bangkok Governor Pol General Assawin Khwanmuang stated that the project focuses on preserving and improving the quality of street food in keeping with other Bangkok restaurants in the city. Those looking to enjoy authentic local and international cuisine also have the option of dining at many other dining venues as well that can be found at such properties as Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel. It was further revealed that the BMA appointed two committees to manage the project one of which is in charge of improving the quality of the areas to meet international standards while the other is responsible for designating appropriate regulations.
