According to the Bangkok Post, Koh Phangan has been voted the third-best island in Asia at the Reader’s Choice Awards by Conde Nast Traveller. On the 29th of October, the provincial governor Wichawat Jinto expressed his happiness at the award and agreed that Koh Phangan is one of the best tourist islands in Asia.
This award is a boost to many a hotel in Koh Phangan as Thailand reopens after its COVID19 lockdown and tourism begin to return to the country. Resorts on the island such as Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas have refurbished their hygiene and safety plans and are ensuring that social distancing is practised within the resort as guests begin to trickle back into the country.
