The eagerly anticipated Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2021 proved to be a hit yet again drawing increased visitors to malls across the city. Held from 1st July to 4th September 2021, the signature event of the summer shopping season was hailed as one of the best editions; it featured over 600 activations and events and amazing discounts with the final sale weekend seeing some prices being slashed as much as 90%.
The popularity of DSS was mirrored in the rise in footfall at local malls where travellers could enjoy shopping while being based at a nearby 5-star hotel in Dubai. The key malls visited not only included The Dubai Mall, the largest of its kind in the world, but other retail hotspots too like Ibn Battuta Mall near Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate Dubai. Apart from shopping, such malls also offer dining, leisure and entertainment options which are key allures for shoppers as well.
