At a press conference at Limelight shopping mall on July 17, Phuket Vice Governor Norasak Suksomboon unveiled the ‘Phuket Rich from Roots’ community tourism initiative. The event featured Ratchadaporn O-in, Director of the Phuket Tourism and Sports office, and Somchai Patan from the Phuket community tourism network. This campaign showcases five new tourist routes: Baan Khian Community, Bang Rong Tourism Community, Baan Tha Chat Chai, Baan Lipon Tai Community, and Bo Rae – Ao Makham – Laem Panwa Community, each selected for its distinct cultural offerings.
Baan Tha Chat Chai is noted for its seafood and traditional fishing lifestyle. Visitors can engage in activities such as batik painting, dragon shrimp catching, and sea cucumber farming. These activities, priced from B1,290 per person for groups of at least five, aim to meet a variety of tourist expectations. For those planning a visit, a city hotel in Phuket the likes of NH Boat Lagoon Phuket Resort will offer convenient access to these cultural experiences.
