Phuket high season opens with colorful parade

It’s once again the time when dazzling Phuket is buzzing with tourists flocking to its stunning shores. Phuket’s high tourism season 2014 was welcomed in an annual three-day carnival which began on the 1st of November in a colorful street procession. The season usually lasts till the month of March.

The first day of the 3-day carnival that was held under the theme of “Blissful Beach, saw not only the splendid street procession but also a dramatic stage performance and a spectacular fireworks display by the Royal Thai Navy to honor King Bhumibol. The 2nd day also saw more stage performances and many fun activities such as a chefs’ competition. The carnival also featured an underwater garbage collecting diving drive that was organized with the aim to promote conservation of the beautiful resort island of Phuket.
