Sri Lanka Participates to Open its Doors to Tourists

After what has been described as successful containment of the COVID-19 Pandemic domestically, Sri Lanka is on the verge of once again opening its doors for tourists and travellers from across the globe. Initially, the Bandaranaike International Airport was set to open on the 1st of August for international flights – this however has been delayed indefinitely due to safety concerns.

Nonetheless, the Tourism Board of Sri Lanka remains optimistic that the island can once again begin welcoming tourists in the not-too-distant future. Instruction has also been given for local accommodation providers to include added incentives for travellers to visit and stay in the country. This goes for a number of establishments – from a Nuwara Eliya 5-star hotel such as the famous Galway Heights to a reputed beach resort located on the island’s south coast.
