3 million tourists – the target that Sri Lanka expects to achieve for the year 2019. Due to the political crisis towards the end of 2018, the 2.5 million target for 2018 wasn’t reached. Since being placed first by Lonely Planet as the top country to visit in 2019, there’s a clear increase of interest on social media among bloggers and travel magazines.
Regions that were previously not very well known have now upped their game, with amazing accommodation options such as Wadduwa beach hotels the likes of Oak Ray Haridra Beach Wadduwa and so much more. Despite not being able to reach the intended financial target for the year 2018, Sri Lanka aims to cover this up with the year 2019.
