Tanah Lot Temple ‘Piodalan’ Anniversary – A Special Celebration in the Island of the Gods

One of the most famed sacred sites in Bali, the Tanah Lot Temple recently held its ‘piodalan’ temple anniversary. The event which took place on 15th November 2017 is part of a biannual celebration which is held on specific dates in the 210-day Pawukon calendar. The temple is a popular place to visit for those heading to Bali; Kuta resort options on the island such as Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali even organise excursions to Tanah Lot Temple and during its anniversary celebration one can get a better insight into the site’s rich heritage. On this day it is a common sight to see devotees from all over Bali come to the temple which lends to the event’s charm. Five days prior to the temple’s anniversary is a special holy day known as ‘Kuningan’ where visitors can observe a unique parade as well.
